Inscription.
At a time when many school districts cut arts programs due to budget reductions. New Albany, through a unique collaboration, expanded cultural offerings to students and residents through the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts.

The New Albany Community Foundation and School Superintendent, Dr. Ralph Johnson, led an effort to bring together the Schools, Village of New Albany, Plain Township and the Foundation. The New Albany Company donated the land in the center of town and contiguous to the learning community campus.

Local families and companies established endowments through the Foundation to sustain quality cultural and educational programming. The Center was named by local benefactor, John G. McCoy, to honor his late wife. who was a champion of education and culture.
