A Tradition of Innovation & Excellence since 1893

In 1893, two pioneering orthopedic surgeons, Drs. Augustus Thorndike and Edward Bradford founded the Industrial School for Crippled and Deformed Children, American's first school for children with physical disabilities. It stood on this site from 1904 to 1988. Renamed Cotting School and located in Lexington, MA, Cotting School continues to be a leader in the evolution and revolution of improving services for children with special needs.
