1. Taagísh Shaanáx Deiyi / Xóots Leitóox Marker

Inscription. The Dakl'aweidí and Yanyeidí clans of the Wolf moiety, and the Deisheetaan, Gaanaxteidí, Ishkahíttaan, and Kookhíttaan clans of the Crow moiety welcome you to the Traditional Territory of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. The Tagish Valley Trail follows the shore of Taasley Méne’/Taasleiyí Áayi/Nares Lake. The trail is called Taagísh Shaanáx Deiyí or Xóots Leitóox in the Tlingit language; it has been called Shaash Zéitígí in the Tagish language. Along the trail, you'll find information about plants, the land, mountains, lakes, birds, and animals, and about their profound connection to Carcross/Tagish culture.
