Inscription. A.M. Yost and Sons originally built the automobile show room on the corner of 5th and Dayton in 1913. In 1914 it was leased to Yost Auto Company which was formed by George, Sam and Jacob Yost.

They started one of the first Ford agencies in the area and by 1916 their inventory had expanded to include Buicks. Previously reliant on water and train based transportation, Edmonds was fast embracing the automobile.

Yost Auto Company purchased the Edmonds-Seattle Auto Stage from the Ellingtons in 1915 and by 1917 ran a fleet of seven passenger cars, holding 20 people each, that made hourly trips between Edmonds and Seattle.

In 1917 Yost Auto Company added a two story addition (the cement costing more than $2000) and expanded the business to include service and repair Another addition was added in 1920. New car sales records were broken in April 1924 when 13 Ford cars were sold.
