Symbole de l'amitié franco-américaine, l'ancien square des États-Unis a été rebaptisé en l'honneur du président américain Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826). Il occupe la place des anciens réservoirs de Chaillot, qui alimentaient les fontaines de la rive droite et une partie de celles de la rive gauche.
Ombragé par des marronniers, il est orné de quatre sculptures: Aux volontaires américains (1923), ceuvre de Jean Boucher (1870-1939), les statues de La Fayette et Washington d'Auguste Bartholdi (1834- 1904), un buste du chercheur Horace Wells (1910) de René Bertrand-Boutée (1877-1950) et un buste de l'ancien ambassadeur américain Myron T. Terrick (1937) de Léon Drivier (1878-1950).

Symbol of Franco-American friendship, the former Square des Etats-Unis was renamed in honor of the President Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826). It occupies the place of the old Chaillot reservoirs, which fed the fountains of the Right Bank and part of those of the Left Bank.
Shaded by chestnut trees, it is adorned with four sculptures: To the American Volunteers (1923), a work by Jean Boucher (1870-1939), the statues of La Fayette and Washington by Auguste Bartholdi (1834- 1904), a bust of the researcher Horace Wells (1910) by René Bertrand-Boutée (1877-1950) and a bust of the former U.S. Ambassador Myron T. Terrick (1937) by Léon Drivier (1878-1950).
