1. Moss Street Marker
Inscription.
This area is named for John Moss, the first settler of the neighborhood, in the late 1760's. His home stood two lots south of the cemetery, until 1997. At one time there were a Post Office, school and several stores here. The area grew when the Great Northern Turnpike, from Sandy Hill to Whitehall opened.
 
Erected 1999 by Town of Kingsbury, with New York State funds.

Hudson Falls (formerly Sandy Hill) is a village located in the southwest corner of the town of Kingsbury, on U.S. Route 4. In 1764, Albert Baker built Kingsbury's first sawmill near what is known today as Baker's Falls. As early as 1792, the area of Kingsbury near Baker's Falls was referred to as Sandy Hill.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2017, The Moss Street Cemetery in Hudson Falls, New York, is a noteworthy historic resource which contains the remains of many prominent Kingsbury residents, some of whom were among the first wave of settlement in the eighteenth century, and among them several veterans who served the Patriot cause during the American Revolution. The Moss Street Cemetery is one of the oldest dedicated burial grounds in the Town of Kingsbury. The cemetery contains the final resting places of countless prominent early town residents, among them veterans of the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
