In this building, then Carty's Furniture Store, eleven local business leaders met on August 12, 1920 to organize the Rotary Club of Frederick.

By the Club's centennial in 2020, there were more than 400 Rotarians in five Rotary Clubs within Frederick County, part of a worldwide network of Rotary Clubs with 1.2 million members focused on local and international services.
