As a trailblazer in education for decades in the city, Mrs. Middleton spent her final chapter at Paul and ensured that Paul scholars were given an opportunity to excel beyond expectations. Although she passed in 2008, Ms. Middleton left a legacy of excellence, as Paul continues to provide its scholars with an exceptional education.

Paul Public Charter School Biography
Paul Public Charter School (Paul PCS), located in Northwest Washington, DC, has a strong tradition of academic excellence and community involvement. Founded in 1930 as Paul Junior High School, Paul PCS converted to a charter middle school in 2000 to better serve its students. Paul PCS provides a college preparatory program for grades 6-12 with a focus on global awareness and engagement. The mission of Paul Public Charter School is to educate our students and to develop in them the capacity to be responsible citizens, independent thinkers, and leaders. In the 2009-2010 school year, Paul PCS began serving high school students, subsequently graduating its first senior class in June 2016, and graduates hundreds since with millions of dollars in scholarships rewarded across academic merit and athletic criteria. Paul PCS has two schools, Paul Middle School and Paul International High School, on the same campus.
