1. Grosso Park Marker

Inscription. Dedicated on June 23, 1980, to the memory of Dr. Joseph Grosso, former City Councilor, and long time resident of the north side.

"He was a great doctor, a fine gentleman, and a good friend to all,"

Dr. Grosso lived adjacent to this park, and was influential in its upkeep and good appearance for many years.

This park was deeded to the city in 1865, and was originally named Bennett park for Miles W. Bennett, one of the former owners of the property.

The memorial to World War Two veterans was dedicated on August 14, 1946.

Erected 1980 by City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Rrecreation.
