Harrison Hill Neighborhood. . Originally the location of the Moellering Brickyard, Harrison Hill Neighborhood was platted by local developers Hilgeman and Schaaf in 1915. The developers described Harrison Hill as “The Heart of New South Wayne.” The Harrison Hill name was chosen because the elevation is 50 feet higher than the sidewalk around the courthouse, creating a neighborhood overlooking the city to the horth and farmlands to the south. The neighborhood, residences, buildings, churches, and school were constructed primarily from 1915 to 1958. Architectural styles include American Foursquare, Craftsman, Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, Minimal Traditional, and Ranch. , Inspired by the improvements of the George Kessler-designed Rudisill Blvd. c. 1912, A.K. Hofer of Fort Wayne created a unique design for the Harrison Hill Neighborhood in 1915. An emphasis was placed on park space. The large, formal Harrison Boulevard is public park, but this small triangular park at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and North Cornell Circle is also a park. Developers Hilgeman and Schaaf intentionally included accessible park space in various locations in the neighborhood for residents to enjoy. In 2021, a group of volunteers within the neighborhood developed this park into the Harrison Hill Triangle Park, enhancing the space for further enjoyment.
