Canadian Pacific Railway Log Houses
circa 1928

These log homes were built for Canadian Pacific Railways officials. A closer look at the houses reveals a unique form of saddle-notch construction. Wood for these homes was obtained locally. the park's last commercial logging berth, located in the Amiskwi Valley, was logged until the late 1960's.

Ces maisons de rondins furent construites pour les représentants du Chemin de fer Canadien Pacifique. En les examinant attentivement, vous verrez qu'on y a utilisé une forme unique de construction à encoignure chevauchée. Le bois dont elles sont faites a été récolté localement. La dernière concession forestière du parc, dans la vallée de l'Amiskwi, fut en activité jusqu'à la fin des années 1960.
