Jailhouse
1902-1948
1971 Local citizens including Pearl Boles and Irvin Standley began efforts to make Kosh City Jail a historic marker. The last person to be placed in the jail was accused of stealing a car and was incarcerated in August of 1947 by Sgt. Jimmie Howard of the Missouri Highway Patrol. Mr. Howard recalled, "When you put someone in that jail, they sure didn't want to come back."
