1. Otis Cabin/Mother-in-Law's House Marker

Inscription. This house and privy were new construction built in 1993. It was designed by Mr Lowell and it had a bridge and a moat around it. Mr Lowell intended it to be used by people who were staying in the Red Oak II guest houses who brought their mother-in-law along. They would put their mother-in-law in this tiny house, run up the drawbridge and have a peaceful stay at Red Oak II. The pond north of the Mother-in-Law's House was dug to provide a pond for the south side of Red Oak II.

This building is now known as the Otis Cabin, Mr. Lowell renaming it after Otis the bullfrog who lives with his family in the Otis Pond. The drawbridge is now a wooden walkway. This building and pond are very popular with visitors to Red Oak II.
