Nestled between the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and the scenic mountains of Central Pennsylvania, Lock Haven has small town charm and a rich historical architectural heritage. Incorporated as a City in 1870, Lock Haven was a timber town and a haven for loggers and river travelers. Lock Haven is the County seat of Clinton County and home to most of the County's major businesses and institutions.

1. Lock Haven University
Lock Haven University (LHU) was founded in 1870 as the Central State Normal School. Today, LHU is a professional degree granting institution offering associate, undergraduate, and graduate degrees in over 60 programs. In addition, LHU students can participate in one or more of the 18 Division I & II programs as well as the more than 120 clubs and organizations. At Lock Haven University our students embrace their possibilities and unlock their passions.
2. Historic Downtown
Downtown Lock Haven, Inc.

Downtown Lock Haven is located in the Water Street Historic District and is home to over 200 retail, service and dining establishments. Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. oversees our nationally recognized Main Street Program which presents events that take place throughout the year. They include: Best of Clinton County Summer Festival and Parade, Hometown Heroes Banner Program, and Haven Holiday and Parade.
3. The Station Gallery
2 East Bald Eagle Street
The Station Gallery, a relocated, restored New York Central railroad station, is managed by the Clinton County Arts Council and its mission is to promote, develop and support the arts in Clinton County. The gallery hosts exhibits of local and nationally-acclaimed artists throughout the year.
4. Amphitheater/Riverwalk
East Water Street & Jay Street
The Riverwalk is a 2.25 mile paved and lighted walkway located on top of the levee. A 3,000 seat concrete amphitheater is built into the levee overlooking the river. During the summer months, the City hosts a Free Summer Concert Series on its floating stage in the Susquehanna River in front of the amphitheater. A path along the bottom of the seating area provides access to the floating stage and a platform for fishing.
5. Heisey Museum

The Heisey House was built in 1831 on the farm that later became Lock Haven and is the town's oldest brick building. This house has served as a farmhouse, tavern, doctor's office and home to several locally prominent families. Originally constructed as a Federal style building, it acquired its Gothic character in a major remodeling circa 1865. In 1962 Samuel Morse and Cora Heisey gave their house to the Clinton County Historical Society for use as a museum. Restored to reflect the mid-Victorian era (1890s), its collections are displayed in room settings which reflect life from that time period.
6. Piper Aviation Museum

Learn some aviation history and the story of the Piper Cub-"the plane that taught America how to fly. "This museum is dedicated to the dream and vision of William T. Piper, who was known as the "Henry Ford of Aviation because Piper manufactured more small planes than anyone in the world at that time. Witness the beauty and science of flight and take a journey through time at the Piper Aviation Museum.

9. Historic Roxy Theatre 308 E Main Street
This art-deco theatre, built in the early 1920s, is the only theatre in Clinton County. This three-screen theatre features restored 30x20 wall murals originally done by an Italian artist when built [...].
10. Ross Library 232 West Main Street
Annie Halenbake Ross bequeathed her home to the City of Lock Haven for the purpose of establishing a FREE lending library - one that didn't charge for membership or lending privileges. Ross Library doors opened over Thanksgiving 1910.

From simple wool socks to their famous cold-busting parkas, Woolrich products have embraced the authentic outdoor lifestyle for more than 180 years. As the oldest continuously operating woolen mill in the United States, the Woolrich Mill provided wool blankets to Civil War soldiers, and continues to produce some of the country's finest woolen blankets today.
