1. Kansas City Young Matrons Marker
Inscription. Organized on September 14, 1917, under the direction of Carolyn Farwell Fuller, who conceived the idea of establishing a club for the advancement of the charitable, social and educational interests of married women. This Colonial Revival style club house designed specifically for a women's club by noted architect Edward Buehler Delk officially opened on September 28, 1936, bringing to reality a permanent home for the club. On November 23, 1998, the KCYM club house was placed on the Kansas City Register of Historic Places by a unanimous vote of the City Council. Through the years, KCYM has provided innumerable hours of service and raised funds for more than thirty civic and social organizations while remaining true to its creed: To our Club -- Loyalty. To the Community -- Service.
