Inscription. General George C. Marshall and his wife Katherine played an important role in the formation of the Girl Scout Troops on Tybee Island. General Marshall, who was the commander of Fort Screven 1932-1933, served as a reference for two of the captains and Mrs. Marshall signed off as a local leader.
