1. Saw Mill Marker
Inscription.
An 1876 Atlas shows a road along Cedar Creek to William Steen's saw mill and house near here. Smith's grist mill was upstream beyond the second present day footbridge. Midway between the mills, the road forked at a tributary stream, climbing to modern Vernon Drive. Along this lane the 1876 Atlas sites a 109 year old apple tree on the right. An ancient apple tree marks the spot today.
