1. Keepers’ Quarters Marker

Inscription. Built in 1869, the keepers' quarter is a duplex. Each side of the house is nearly identical to the other. The house was the primary living quarters for the keepers, assistant keepers, and their families until 1953, when the Light Station's last civilian keeper retired. An 1890s addition to the north side of the keepers' quarters connects the house to the lighthouse tower.
