Inscription. Three times occupied by Southern invaders, chiefly cavalry: June 19, 1863, by Gen. A.G. Jenkins; June 24-26, by Gen. G.H. Steuart; and June 29, after a brief clash with Union troops, by Gen. J.D. Imboden.
 
Erected 1947 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
