1. LA 2,000,000 Marker
Inscription. This marker commemorates the Apollo 11 Tranquility Base archeological site on the Moon as LA 2,000,000 in the State of New Mexico's Archaeological Records Management Section (ARMS) database.

LA 2,000,000 represents the site created by the Apollo astronauts on July 20, 1969 on the Moon, 238,857 miles from Earth at (Lunar Coordinates) 0.67266 degrees North Latitude, 23.47298 degrees East Longitude.

The New Mexico Museum of Space History serves as the host for the LA 2,000,000 on Earth. The location of this marker at the Museum (UTM Coordinates: Zone 13, E413969/N3642735) will be forever linked to the lunar landing site.

LA 2,000,000 is now part of the ARMS, the largest archaeological database in the United States that has more than 150,000 sites in New Mexico. This location marked the first effort to preserve the cultural heritage on the Moon here on Earth.
