1. Grace Moore Marker
Grace Moore, internationally famous star of grand opera, Broadway musicals, motion pictures, concert stage, radio, and recordings, was born December 5, 1898 in Cocke County in East Tennessee. She grew up in Jellico, sang in the First Baptist Church choir, and was captain of the Jellico High School girls basketball team in 1916. She loved our town and gave it worldwide recognition and renown.
