1. McDonnell F-4 Phantom II Marker

Inscription.

The versatile McDonnell F-4 Phantom II first flew in 1958, entering operational service with the Navy in 1961 and the Air Force in 1962. The Phantom became one of the principal fighters in the Air Force, serving into the late 1990s.

The F-4C on display is painted with the markings of the 35th Tactical Fighter Squadron, assigned to the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing at Kunsan AB, Korea, and stationed at U-Tapao AB, Thailand, from 1971-1974. The F-4 was also used in Alaska from 1970 to 1980.
