[Text at base of statue:]
[Text on right:]
After the heart of Jesus, there never was nor will be, in heaven or on earth, any heart where the adorable will of God reigns so perfectly and gloriously as in the admirable heart of the blessed Virgin Mary.

What an obligation we have to honor to love and to praise those two most lovable hearts of Jesus and Mary: to employ our whole life in serving and glorifying them and to endeavor to imprint on our hearts a perfect image of their most eminent virtues.

[Text on rear:] Our wish, our object, our chief preoccupation must be to form Jesus in ourselves to make his spirit, his devotion, his affections, his desires and his disposition live and reign there. It is the work which God has given us to do unceasingly the adorable heart of Jesus is a burning furnace of divine love, radiating its fire and flame in all directions in heaven in the church triumphant on earth, in the church militant, and in purgatory in the church suffering.

[Text on left:] Mary always held and will hold forever the first place in the sacred heart of her divine son. She

always was and will never cease to be the first object of his love after the eternal father and so he wishes that. Next to God, she should be the principal object of our devotion.

The love of Mary’s most blessed heart makes it an inexhaustible source of gifts. Favors and blessings for all those who truly love their mother most amiable, and honor her most lovable heart.

[Text on tablet to the rear of the statue:]
The life of Saint John Eudes spanned the golden age of Catholicism in France. Endowed with exceptional gifts as an orator, he was eminently successful as a home missionary apostle of both the clergy and the people. He founded the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (Eudist Fathers) for the training of candidates for the diocesan priesthood and the preaching of parish missions to the faithful. He also instituted the Order of Our Lady of Charity of Refuge and of the Good Shepherd for the rehabilitation of girls led astray by a wicked world. For persons aspiring to perfection in the world he established the Society of the Admirable Heart of Mary.

Greatest among the achievements of his ardent zeal was the preaching and spreading of the Devotion of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary. He introduced into the liturgy of the church the first public feasts, for which he composed both mass and office. He also obtained the approbation of the Holy See
