Fairgrounds History
The old Cattle Barn was built in 1920 as a WPA building. The south end had a stage/display area and the upper level was used for dorms. The north upper level housed poultry, and after 1978, the building was used for 4-H livestock entries.
The Agribition Building was built in 1978 by donations from the Livestock Breeders Association and supporters of the agricultural community. It housed Open Class dairy, an indoor show arena, area for concessions, milking and a wash rack.
The new Cattle Barn at the Century Avenue site is 150'x100' and houses Open Class and 4-H dairy. It includes a 36'x70' enlarged wash rack and milking area. Also included in the building is a 36'x30' country diner with a full service food area.
