Inscription.
On snowy days up through the 1930s, Prospect Hill and Stone Avenue were swarming - with sleds. Making the most of its steeply sloping hillsides, the city closed off traffic on selected streets, and residents of every age took to their toboggans. Slide forward seven decades and you find Somerville native Erin Warren, an eight-time world champion luge racer, sledding for the US Olympic team at both Lillehammer, Norway (1994) and Nagano, Japan (1998)

Erected by City of Somerville.
