Inscription.  
Zürichs letzte Äbtissin wohnte von 1540 bis zu Ihrem Tod 1547 in diesem Haus.

Sie war von 1496-1524 Äbtissin der Fraumünsterabtei.

Am 7. Dezember 1524 übergab sie diese, mit allen dazugehörigen Gütern, freiwillig dem Rat von Zürich und trug damit wesentlich zur wirtschaftlichen Blüte unserer Stadt bei.

(English translation:)
Zurich's last abbess lived in this house from 1540 until her death in 1547.

She was abbess of the Fraumünster Abbey from 1496-1524.

On December 7, 1524, she voluntarily handed it over, along with all of its belongings, to the Council of Zurich, thereby making a significant contribution to the economic prosperity of our city.
