This site was the location of the Chihuahuita School, which served the residents of the Chihuahuita Barrio, a predominantly Mexican and Mexican-American neighborhood. Most of the residents were immigrants from the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Chihuahuita School educated the children of this community in an era of segregation in California.

En este sitio estaba localizada la Escuela Chihuahuita, la cual servia a los residentes del Barrio Chihuahuita. En esta comunidad vivían predominantemente Mexicanos y Mexico-Americanos. La mayoria de estas personas, inmigraron del estado de Chihuahua, Mexico. La Escuela Chihuahuita educo a los niños de esta vecindad, en la epoca de segregacion en California.
