1. Guardian Spirit Marker
"Guardian Spirit" is a self-explanatory piece that depicts wildlife in Michigan's winter season, according to artist Dan Feldhauser. Dan Feldhauser is an artist in every sense of the word. He grew up on the banks of the Au Sable River and spent many years of adulthood mastering his craft. His use of "photo-realism" is infused with the genuine nature and essence of environment that has surrounded him his entire life. "Although oil is my preferred media, I continue to do charcoal and graphite renderings" said Dan. His passion for the actual landscape of his childhood is obvious in virtually every piece that Feldhauser does. Although these surroundings influence a majority of Dan's art, his ability to portray nearly any image is evident in commissioned artwork, making his craft both unique and versatile.
"My goal is give a concentrated effort to capture a specific moment in time," Dan explained. This moment in time can be vivacious and full of life as portrayed in his landscape oil paintings, or it can be final and somber as captured in etched black granite cemetery memorials that have been part of Dan's professional repertoire.
As Feldhauser creates new works of art in his studio, he surrounds himself with his own art creations. Art, Dan's true passion, is the very environment that encompasses him.
