The 1600 block of West Main Street exhibits some of the most promising examples of commercial/industrial property in the district. The former Pepsi-Cola bottling plant at 1610-1612 is a two-story seven-bay brick building in six-course American bond. Jack arches top asymmetrically composed window openings on either side of a reworked overhead door bay. Recessed brick panels adorn the second story and the roof parapet. Across the street on the south side at 1609-1625 is the companion garage for the bottling company, which was built in two phases.(Submitted on September 8, 2024, by Devry Becker Jones of Washington, District of Columbia.)
