Fairbanks boatel, the sternwheeler Nenana which is docked near 2nd avenue and Lathrop street, opened last week, for the summer season under the guidance of Russ Prier and Jack Rasmussen, who leased it from Greater Fairbanks Opportunities, Inc.
The sternwheeler, which has 35 modern staterooms for tourists, is open daily from 1 until 9 p.m. for guided tours. The old sternwheeler formerly traveled up and down the Tanana and Yukon Rivers with passengers and freight to help in the development of the territory of Alaska.
The river steamer is equip[p]ed with a sandwich bar and travelogue movies of Alaska are shown each evening at 9 p.m., seven days a week.
