1. U.S. Model 1841 12 Pounder Gun Marker
Inscription. Lieutenant DuBois's 12 pounder was the biggest cannon on the battlefield. Weighing in at almost 3,800 pounds it could hurl 12 pound shot about a mile. At this range, shot can easily reach targets in the Ray Cornfield and at the Ray House.

(caption) These cannoneers are unlimbering the piece and moving it into position. It takes 8 to 15 men and 6 horses to move each gun and limber across the battlefield. Imagine what it was like to position and fire these big guns on a hot August day.
