1. Bandstands Marker

Inscription. Throughout the history of File Lake, various bandstands have graced the village green, including the two shown above. In the larger photograph from 1880, the bandstand is shown with Foster’s Market in the background. The smaller photograph (from 1920) is an example of another bandstand that was an important element of small town living (notice the road workers in front of the newly erected telephone poles). The current bandstand was built as a tribute to the history of our charming town and is located on the grounds of the public beach.
