1. Marlboro Packard Marker
Inscription.
Master Shipbuilder, Marlboro Packard, built this house in 1851. He and his wife, Mary raised their children here.

To mark the sad occasion of Abraham Lincoln's assassination in 1865, Marlboro and his friend Captain Nickels planted this northern white cedar tree on the southeastern corner of the property. The tree was struck down by lightning in 1999. A local artist, Rob Cowan carved this likeness of Marlboro Packard into the trunk.
