1. Founders Wall and Eastside Gardens Marker

Inscription. In the spring of 2023, with help of St. Charles Public Works Department, the grasses and weeds were removed from each of the museum's gardens.

Master Gardener Volunteers selected a garden their team would care for. Once gardens were selected, then each team researched 1933 types of gardens, designs and plants. And chose a theme for their garden.

These teams faced many obstacles before they could start planting, such as, weeds, poor soil, full sun, all shade, and rainwater run-off. Today, these teams continually work together refreshing and maintaining each of these gardens.

The garden in front of the Founders Wall, was planted for visibility of the names of the Founders and to bring attention to this wall. The team planted seasonal plants; Creeping Jenny, Black-eyed Susans and spring bulbs.

The Eastside Garden is to be determined in 2025.
