Regarding Auto Races. The Bridgehampton Fire Department has been organizing its annual carnival since 1911. In 1914, the carnival expanded to include thrilling automobile and motorcycle races. At the conclusion of the carnival, two 35-mile long automobile races were held specifically for 30-horsepower cars. The participants of these races included both affluent sports enthusiasts and local young men. These exciting races commenced on Main Street and navigated through the picturesque farmland of Bridgehampton, providing a thrilling spectacle for all attendees.
