1. William Boldosser Memorial
Inscription. He entered the Marine Corps on July 1, 1942 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Throughout much training and attendance of multiple schools he went to Guadalcanal where he was needed as a radio and radar operator. He progressed to become a tail gunner and spent 14 months island hopping to his final destination of Okinawa. With his enlistment coming to an end he was discharged on June 30th, 1946. After returning home to Newville he wed Dorothy Wilder on September 12, 1946. After his disapproval of civilian life, he enlisted in the Marine Corps on October 1, 1946, and maintained the rank of Sergeant.

During the Korean War, he was sent to Japan to help repair helicopters for 14 months. He then went on to serve in 1954 on an aircraft carrier near the Bikini Atoll where new hydrogen bomb sites were formed and being tested. He retired from active duty on July 1, 1962. Bill spent the next 10 years in inactive reserves before leaving the Marine Corps.

Mr. William Boldoser and his wife had a daughter Patricia Steinberg who now has a family of her own with her husband Lowell and children Sarah and Daniel.

He passed on November 15, 2019.

War II veteran William Boldosser. The vision came to fruition earlier this month with the unveiling of a memorial completed as part of Collin Anderson’s Eagle Scout project.
