Glassport in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Let It Be Known
This anchor was cast at the former Pittsburgh Steel Foundry. It was produced during the World War II period. Let it stand as a memorial to the men and women who labored at our local foundry and also to the servicemen and women who answered the call to duty. Especially to those who went to a watery grave. May God through his mercy grant them eternal rest for their supreme sacrifice. We loved them all.
Through the efforts of the Glassport Heritage Society and the generosity of the Sid Mendlowitz Trucking Co.
In loving memory of his parents Esther and Louis Mendlowitz
