This monument is placed in memory of the soldiers who served the cause of freedom during the American War of Independence, 1775-1783, and who are buried within the churchyard of Saint James Mill Creek. Although most of their burial locations have been lost to history, may the souls of these faithful patriots be known eternally to God.
