Inscription. Hershey Lodge originally opened as Hershey Motor Lodge. The demand for overnight accommodations rapidly increased and in response, the family resort expanded to add rooms, restaurants, recreation, and convention space. the deluxe accommodations offered at Hershey Lodge helped the town transition to a major entertainment and leisure destination.
