Jewish Waldheim Cemetery is actually a combination of roughly 250 different Jewish cemeteries divided over 60 acres spanning much of the area inside Roosevelt Road, Harlem Avenue, Cermak Avenue (22nd Street) and Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park. 2. Holocaust Memorial
Looking west down Greenberg Road.
memorial is in the west side of the cemetery at gate 230A, about a tenth of a mile west of Harlem Avenue, at the B'nai Bezalel Congregation gate. This congregation was formed in the early 1900s and merged with several other congregations through the years; its synagogue was in Woodlawn on the South Side of Chicago, not far from the University of Chicago. The congregation is believed to have folded in the 1960s.
