The Lotz House

Equestrian travel was still the only way to commute on land. Louis Lotz was in the business of providing the public with harnesses, saddles, whips and blankets, all necessary items of the day. Mr. Lotz built his Victorian Italianate home on this lot in 1873. His business was in the heart of a thriving commercial district. As with many merchants of the time, his residence was overtop of the saddle and harness shop.
