The cross and doors are from the former School of Nursing which later became the East Wing of St. Francis Medical Center. They are placed here as a loving, permanent tribute to all of the devoted Sisters, Doctors, Nurses, Employees and Patients of the St. Francis Medical Center. Your love shines on!

Regarding St. Francis Medical Center Cross and Doors. The St. Francis Health System was established in 1865 in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh. In 1919 the Sisters of Saint Francis of Millvale established the St. Francis Hospital Training School of Nurses. The hospital was shut down in 2002 and bought out by University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Children's Hospital.
