1. Marland Oil Gas Station Marker

Inscription.
This station was established in 1925 by Muskogee businessman James M. Anthis at an important intersection of the Jefferson Highway through Muskogee. The station was designed with an English cottage-style look that was favored by Marland Oil founder E.W. Marland. Upon the merger of Marland Oil in 1929, the station was converted to the Conoco brand, which it remained until the 1940's. It was a popular service station until the 1970's.

2. Marland Oil Gas Station Marker
The marker is located on the east/left side of the former service station.
around 1926 and was originally a Marland Oil Station before Marland merged with Continental Oil. After merging with the oil company, it became a Conoco station in the community. Next door, one can see the original garage building which has been converted into offices.
