Inscription.  
In deze meest oostelijke hoek van de tuin staat nog steeds een van de eerste gebouwen: het monumentale Zaadkoepeltje. Het is gebouwd in 1683, het jaar dat de Hortus zich hier in de Plantage vestigde. Het werd gebouwd als speelhuisje voor het stadsbestuur, zij waren immers eigenaar van de Hortus. Later werd het een theekoepel voor het bestuur van de Hortus, alvorens het jarenlang de bewaarplaats werd voor de zaden die in de tuin werden gewonnen. Naast dit koepelgebouw stond toen een lange rij kassen langs de Plantage Middenlaan. Hoewel het de functie van zaad- kamer niet meer heeft, draagt het nog steeds de naam Zaadkoepeltje.

One of the first buildings of the Hortus still stands in this most easterly corner of the garden: the historic Seed Dome. It was built in 1683, the year that the Hortus was established here in the Plantage neighbourhood. It was built as a playhouse for the city council, as they were the owners of the Hortus.
