1. John Brigham Saw Mill Site Marker

Inscription. In 1672 the Massachusetts General Court granted John Brigham, a noted surveyor from the Marlborough Plantation, 200 acres in what is now Northborough. He was the first permanent colonial settler in the area and built a saw mill. This began a long history of commercial activity here including comb manufacturing and candle making.
