3. Louis Braille Museum grounds sculpture
This sculpture can be found in one corner of the grounds, depicting two hands, the left reading (music?) and the right playing a keyboard. Although there is no nearby interpretive panel to explain, its worth noting that although Brailles body was interred in the Pantheon in Paris, his hands have remained here in his tomb in the Coupvray cemetery. Note also, Braille was an accomplished organist. The left sheet, difficult to read, seemingly says, Lart et la musique sont la lumiere de lespirit, which can be translated to Art and Music are the light of the mind.
