Inscription. Silent film stars Louise (1895-1973) and Justina (1893-1977) Huff lived at 832 First Avenue in the early 1900’s before relocating to New York City with their parents, Thomas Daniel Huff and Lucinda Salisbury Huff (daughter of Col. W. L. Salisbury). After her father’s death in 1910, Louise joined a traveling theater company and appeared at the Springer Opera House on Christmas Day 1911. The sisters began their screen careers in 1913. Justina left show business in 1916 after appearing in more than forty films. Louise went on to achieve international fame before giving up movies for the theater in 1922. She retired in 1924 after appearing in more than seventy films and two Broadway plays.
