1. Ordway's Mill Marker
Inscription. This is the site on the Suncook River in the Pineground area where one of the earlier water mills was built commonly known as Ordway's Mill.

This mill was a grist and saw mill which ground grain, and manufactured boards, shingles and clapboards.

A good part of the mill was placed over the river, and it was driven by two turbines.

“On March 2, 1897 the river was very high. Ice had worked out all the under part of the mill causing it to go down.” (W.S. Langmaid diary)

Erected by Chichester Historical Society.
