A Bit of History
1876, On March sixth, seven men of Lutheran heritage decided to act on their conviction that their faith needed the strengthening help of an organized church to help it grow. They followed their decision with action and the "Town of Normans Menighed" came into being. Only twelve souls were members of this first congregation, with seven of them signing the original constitution which was printed in 1879, the name was officially changed to "Sverdrup Evangelical Lutheran Congregation". They met in a private home. The original articles of incorporation were recorded in 1892.

This sign has been given In Memory of Edward & Laura Pederson
