1. Dunster Squibb House Marker

Inscription.
The Dunster Squibb House and 3.9-acre parcel are all that remain of the 120-farm of Oliver Dunster (1811-1891). This early 19th century farmhouse was enlarged and remodeled over time by pharmaceutical heir Charles F. Squibb (1858-1942), who lived at an adjoining estate known as Welwood. Squibb transformed the farmhouse into an eclectic, Colonial Revival country lodge known as "The Orchard." Squibb was forced to sell Welwood in 1914, and moved to "The Orchard." His descendants owned the property until 2008.

Erected 2023 by Somerset County Board of County Commissioners.
